Monday, Jan 20

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events

    • Baby Time: 10-10:30am. Delight and engage your baby with songs, a story and playtime. Get to know other families and help your baby develop listening and language skills. For babies from birth to 18 months with a caregiver. No registration required. 

    • Rhyme Time Music and Movement: 11:30am-12pm. Move and groove together with action rhymes, songs, games and hands-on musical activities that will help children develop motor, listening and literacy skills.

    • Monday Evening Book Discussion: 6:30pm. This month you’ll discuss On the Same Page Book, Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange.

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Nurture your toddler's love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills.

  • Trail Tuesdays @ Third Nature Brewing Company: 5-8pm. Every Tuesday stop by between 5 and close and run, walk, bike on the White Pine Trail and receive $2 off your first post workout pint. Be sure to check-in at the host stand. Dogs are welcome in our Biergarten.

Wednesday, Jan 22

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events:

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Nurture your toddler's love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills.

    • Story Time: 11:30am-12:30pm. Nurture your child’s love of books and build early literacy skills through stories, rhymes, music and movement. (ages 0-5).

    • The History of Lunar New Year in Grand Rapids: 6:30-7:30pm. In the early part of the twentieth century, Grand Rapids had a robust Asian community whose Lunar New Year celebrations were large enough to make front page news. With Jen Tompkins of the Grand Rapids Asian Pacific Foundation, explore historical newspaper clippings that shed light on how members of Grand Rapids' first Asian community celebrated the Lunar New Year.

  • Wintertime Walks @ Meijer Gardens: 10:30am. Bundle up and join us on an outdoor discovery walk to investigate the Children’s Garden in new ways.

  • Movies at the Museum @ GRAM: 6-10pm. Join the Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Grand Rapids Film Society for a screening of Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962) by Agnès Varda. This event is free to the public. Registration is required online.

  • Next Stop Comedy Series @ Third Nature Brewing Co.: 7-8:30pm. Next Stop Comedy brings top stand-up comedians to your favorite local venues! Each show features a novel line-up with acts seen on TV and heard on your favorite podcasts. Get tickets online

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events:

    • The Easiest Flowers to Grow: 1pm. Join us to learn about perennial flowers and shrubs that are easy to grow in our climate. We will focus on plants that require the least amount of maintenance, discuss which plants grow well in sun versus shade and introduce the concept of highlighting your perennial garden with annuals for longer-lasting color and texture.   • Southern Sunrise Cooking Class @ Thought Design: 10am-12pm. Come join their cooking class and experience the comforting flavors of a Southern breakfast! You’ll be making fluffy biscuits and savory gravy, plus delicious shrimp and grits. Purchase tickets online!

  • Cannonsburg Ski & Ride for Kids: Cannonsburg Kids is a weekend learn to ski and ride program for kids ages 6-12 at any ability level. The program runs both days of the weekend from 10am-1pm. Check-in begins at 9am throughout the season in the Bear Creek room. Whether a first time skier/snowboarder, or a beginner looking to gain new skills, our instructors are here to help!   • Mountain Minnies @ Cannonsburg: 11:45am. The Mountain Minnies is a winter adventure team for girls ages 3-5. The program is designed to empower girls in snow sports, build self-esteem, and lasting friendships. The biggest goal of the Mountain Minnies is to have fun on winter weekend adventures.
