Monday, Jan 13

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events

    • Baby Time: 10-10:30am. Delight and engage your baby with songs, a story and playtime. Get to know other families and help your baby develop listening and language skills. For babies from birth to 18 months with a caregiver. No registration required. 

    • Rhyme Time Music and Movement: 11:30am-12pm. Move and groove together with action rhymes, songs, games and hands-on musical activities that will help children develop motor, listening and literacy skills.

    • Monday Evening Book Discussion: 6:30pm. This month you’ll discuss On the Same Page Book, Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange. 

Tuesday, Jan 14

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Nurture your toddler's love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills.

  • Situational Awareness Class @ WWC Armory: 6-8pm. Situational awareness is the crucial skill of being aware of your environment and understanding potential threats before they become imminent dangers. It's about more than just being alert; it's about recognizing the context of your surroundings, interpreting social cues, and predicting possible outcomes to stay ahead of situations.   • Trail Tuesdays @ Third Nature Brewing Company: 5-8pm. Every Tuesday stop by between 5 and close and run, walk, bike on the White Pine Trail and receive $2 off your first post workout pint. Be sure to check-in at the host stand. Dogs are welcome in our Biergarten.

Wednesday, Jan 15

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events:

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Nurture your toddler's love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills.

    • Story Time: 11:30am-12:30pm. Nurture your child’s love of books and build early literacy skills through stories, rhymes, music and movement. (ages 0-5).

  • Wintertime Walks @ Meijer Gardens: 10:30am. Bundle up and join us on an outdoor discovery walk to investigate the Children’s Garden in new ways. 

  • Free Yoga Day @ Funky Buddha 

    • FREE yoga classes, ALL day at ALL Funky Buddha studios! Join them for fun, free, and accessible classes. Expect their supportive staff and community to help you start (or grow) your yoga practice and explore all the ways yoga can benefit YOU! Class is FREE, however pre registration is required! Thursday, Jan 16

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events:

    • Ready for Reindeer (makeup date): 5-6pm. Traveling all the way from the North Pole (via Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farms), live reindeer will be visiting the library. Dress warmly for this outdoor program, bring some quarters to purchase treats to feed the reindeer if you wish, and don't forget the camera! For all ages and no registration required. 

  • Roga @ Aptitude: 6-7pm. A running + yoga series for everybody! Whether you’ve been running for years, haven't run in a while or have never run, you've been invited to join Aptitude Fitness + Yoga; RoGa Series. The Roga series is Thursdays at 6pm-7pm at Aptitude Fitness + Yoga studio. Run, walk or a mixture of both for 30-minutes followed by a runner specific yoga session. Your instructor Sara will guide you through safe running strategies, breathing techniques and build confidence in running outside in all weather conditions.   • Sound Baths @ Boochie: 6:30-8pm. Join us to unwind your mind at Boochie Kombucha & Wellness Bar with a series of restorative and immersive sound baths that invite you into a deeper state of consciousness, serve as an opportunity to unplug and relax, and promote self-inquiry/discovery.   • Movies at the Museum @ GRAM: 6-10pm. Join the Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Grand Rapids Film Society for a screening of Opening Night (1977) by John Cassavetes. This event is free to the public. Registration is required online.

Friday, Jan 17

  • Wintertime Walks @ Meijer Gardens: 10:30am. Bundle up and join us on an outdoor discovery walk to investigate the Children’s Garden in new ways. 

  • Earth to Table @ Though Design: 6pm-8pm. Join their cooking class and discover the delicious world of vegetarian meals featuring tofu, legumes, and other plant-based proteins! You’ll learn creative recipes that are both nutritious and satisfying, perfect for anyone looking to explore meatless cooking. Sign up here

Saturday, Jan 18

  • World of Winter Silent Disco: 7-11pm. Dance under the stars with live DJs, fire performers and stunning light displays at the Silent Disco.   • Dino Night @ Grand Rapids Griffins: 7pm. Adult Dino Night Jersey Giveaway, Interactive Dinosaurs on Display, and Dino Night Jersey Auction Post-Game. Purchase tickets online

  • Mini Mountaineers @ Cannonsburg: 11:45am. The Mini Mountaineers is an outdoor adventure team for boys ages 3-5. Each session is 1 hour long with a theme incorporating sports, science, fairytales, outdoor adventures and snack breaks. The Mini Mountaineers will be guided by highly trained instructors who specialize in a variety of sports! The goal is to have fun and be active outside! Sign up here!

  • Cannonsburg Ski & Ride for Kids: Cannonsburg Kids is a weekend learn to ski and ride program for kids ages 6-12 at any ability level. The program runs both days of the weekend from 10am-1pm. Check-in begins at 9am throughout the season in the Bear Creek room. Whether a first time skier/snowboarder, or a beginner looking to gain new skills, our instructors are here to help! Cannonsburg Kids is specifically designed to help those ages 6-12 years old learn, progress and feel more confident on the hill! More info & to sign up here.

  • Mountain Minnies @ Cannonsburg: 11:45am. The Mountain Minnies is a winter adventure team for girls ages 3-5. The program is designed to empower girls in snow sports, build self-esteem, and lasting friendships. The biggest goal of the Mountain Minnies is to have fun on winter weekend adventures.   • Winter Jam @ Van Andel: 5pm. Featuring Skillet, Anne Wilson, Trip Lee, Colton Dixon, Newsong, Micah Tyler and speaker Zane Black. No tickets are required to attend Winter Jam and admission is only a $15 donation at the door. Arrive early for the Pre-Jam Party with SEU Worship, The Band Table and We Are Vessel.
