Monday, Jan 6

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events

    • Baby Time: 10-10:30am. Delight and engage your baby with songs, a story and playtime. Get to know other families and help your baby develop listening and language skills. For babies from birth to 18 months with a caregiver. No registration required. 

    • Rhyme Time Music and Movement: 11:30am-12pm. Move and groove together with action rhymes, songs, games and hands-on musical activities that will help children develop motor, listening and literacy skills.

Tuesday, Jan 7

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Nurture your toddler's love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills.

    • Chess Anyone: 6-7:30pm. Drop-in and play chess at the library! All skill levels are welcome. An adult is usually on hand to help with your game or match you with a worthy opponent.

  • Meet Elsa @ Coffee Clubhouse: 5:30pm. Join Queen Elsa for a magical meet and greet at the cozy Coffee Clubhouse, where winter enchantment meets a relaxed café atmosphere. Get tickets here.

Wednesday, Jan 8

  • Kent District Library Krause Branch Events:

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Nurture your toddler's love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills.

    • Story Time: 11:30am-12:30pm. Nurture your child’s love of books and build early literacy skills through stories, rhymes, music and movement. (ages 0-5).

    • Meet the Sled Dogs: 4-5pm. Come meet the sled dogs from Tun-Dra kennels and their owners. Ask questions about mushing, the Iditarod and more. The program will take place outside, so dress accordingly. For all ages.

  • Wintertime Walks @ Meijer Gardens: 10:30am. Bundle up and join us on an outdoor discovery walk to investigate the Children’s Garden in new ways. 

Thursday, Jan 9

  • Thursday Night Sessions @ Cannonsburg: 6:30-7:30pm. Thursday night sessions are back! Session the park every Thursday for the chance to win prizes from various sponsors! Bring your best tricks. The event is free, but lift tickets are required. More info here.

  • Grand Rapids Symphony: Sax and the City: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM. 

  • Freezer Meals Cooking Class @ Thought Design: 6-8pm. Join this cooking class and learn to create delicious freezer meals using your oven, crockpot, and sauté pan!   • World of Winter - Opening Celebration: 6-9pm. Join us for the exciting Opening Kickoff Event of the 2025 World of Winter Festival!   • Cannonsburg Ski & Ride for Kids: Cannonsburg Kids is a weekend learn to ski and ride program for kids ages 6-12 at any ability level. The program runs both days of the weekend from 10am-1pm. Check-in begins at 9am throughout the season in the Bear Creek room. Whether a first time skier/snowboarder, or a beginner looking to gain new skills, our instructors are here to help!
